New Two's Co. program for retailers

Two's Company announced a program today in which onlinle orders will be fulfilled by authorized retailers. The announcement is reprinted below:

Williams-Sonoma 1Q financial results

Though revenues decreased, Williams-Sonoma said its first-quarter results (ended May 3, 2009) were better than expected. The company operates Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids.
From the press release:
Howard Lester, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “While the home furnishings sector continued to be under significant pressure in the first quarter, we focused on the aspects of the business we could control and delivered substantially better-than-expected earnings results.
We saw our revenues stabilize within our range of guidance, and we were able to enhance profitability by reducing our advertising expense as a percentage of revenues
and optimizing our promotional activity. We also successfully lowered our merchandise inventories, reduced our capital spending and once again improved our year-over-year cash position.”
Mr. Lester continued, “. . . despite our better-than-expected performance in the first quarter, we are reiterating our financial guidance for the remaining quarters of the year, as we continue to focus on our five key initiatives:
(1) capturing market share through innovative merchandising and a greater emphasis on opening price points;
(2) delivering superior customer service;
(3) continuing our catalog circulation optimization strategy;
(4) driving efficiencies in our worldwide supply chain; and
(5) maximizing profitability and cash flow.”

Oversized mirror

Habersham Furniture Co.'s Millicent Mirror has a classic, distressed white frame. The Toccoa, Ga.-based company makes reproductions and original, copyrighted furniture, including trumeaus, armoires, chests and dressers, cupboards, media centers, occasional dining and work tables, chairs, desks and beds, as well as kitchen and bath cabinetry.

High-end, below-wholesale sample sale

Some of the most stylish and fashion-forward decorative accessories companies are holding a sample sale this Saturday, June 6 (from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) in High Point, N.C. The sale is open to the public. Proceeds will benefit the Accessories Resource Team (ART).
Participating companies are The Phillips Collection, Global Views, Progress Lighting, Quoizel, Paragon, Feizy Rugs, Roma, CBK, Arteriors and Kinder Harris. J. Douglas Sales and Southern Accessories Today—two showrooms that represent multiple lines—will also participate.

Mops, brooms and brushes

Bissell's first line of simple cleaning tools, called Smart Details, is a collection of brooms, dusters, mops and small brushes. The tools feature collapsible handles for easy storage, jointed handles to angle under furniture, soft touch grips and circular ends for hanging.
The Microfiber Lightweight Mop (shown) can be used damp for mopping, or used dry for dusting (with disposable cloths). Framed photographs

The photographer Jones shot close-up parts of vintage boats, which have been matted and framed by Paragon. The overall size is 14 inches by 18 inches. Paragon introduced more than 200 new images at the spring furniture market in High Point, N.C.

Abbiamo Tutto's Umbria collection of oven-to-table bakeware is microwave- and dishwasher-safe. The collection is made in Italy. The pattern also is available on placesetting pieces and serveware.
